This regional regulation prohibits prostitution in Balangan regency, South Kalimantan (Kalimantan Selatan), and authorises official intervention and reporting thereof. It is an example of a legislative instrument that, arguably, seeks to Islamise public life without making any significant reference to Islam or religion (agama) (although one reference is made to religious morals (moral agama) in its elucidation). Contravention thereof carries a maximum penalty of three months' imprisonment or a fine of IDR 5 million (art 8(1)).
