This law was passed by the Islamic Consultative Assembly on July 15, 1982, and was subsequently approved by the Guardian Council. It comprises 211 articles covering topics such as the definition of diya, its amount, deadlines for payment, responsibility for payment, diya for human body parts, injuries caused by animals, crimes against animals, and offenses committed against a human corpse.
