The Law Concerning Islamic Punishment Containing General Provisions

This law was passed by the Islamic Consultative Assembly on October 13, 1982, and subsequently ratified by the Guardian Council. It consists of nine chapters and 41 articles, covering topics such as: General Provisions; Crimes and Punishments; Punishments and Rehabilitative and Supplementary Measures; Attempt to Commit a Crime; Recidivism; Accomplices and Accessories to a Crime; Multiple Offenses; Scope of Criminal Liability; and Mitigation of Punishment.
